Founder Kelvin Boyle started Boyle’s Livestock Transport in 1957, using his father’s Ford body truck to transport livestock around Victoria’s Western Districts for local farmers.

The business grew to two double-deck semi-trailers in the 1980s, and as sons Rodney and Anthony joined the business, was running four trucks including two B-doubles by 2002.

Over the years, Boyle’s has bought several smaller livestock transport businesses to develop its footprint and service offerings, now delivering livestock to all corners of Australia.

Today Boyle’s operates a fleet of 20 prime movers out of its depot at Mepunga, near Warrnambool in South West Victoria, concentrating primarily on saleyard, abattoir and live export work across Victoria and the southern NSW Riverina, and stretching across into meatworks and saleyards work in South Australia.

Based  in south west Victoria, the company is still very much a family owned business, operated by brothers Anthony and Rodney Boyle. They speak with distinct pride about their business, the personal service they provide to customers, and the benefit of having employees as ‘part of the family’.

Today, more than ever before, Boyle’s is conscious of its image and the fact it’s an important player in the food chain. Animal welfare is a priority. The company, which is accredited under the Truckcare national animal welfare program, has total responsibility for what is live and perishable freight, and can’t afford to have trucks broken down.“Our ability to keep trucks on the road is critical so our own maintenance program is very

thorough and we also look for the best possible support from our suppliers,” says Anthony Boyle

About 4000 cattle and up to 10,000 sheep and lambs are transported every week, mostly to abattoirs but also from saleyards to local farms.
