Company Profile
Boyle’s livestock transport was started in 1957 by Kelvin Boyle when he borrowed his father’s truck and started carting a few cattle to the local market. It slowly grew to 2 double deck semi trailers in the 1980s and as the rest of the family took roles in the business it grew to 4 trucks including 2 B doubles by 2002.
With the purchase of another local company T & P Smith from Hawkesdale in 2002 it doubled to 8 trucks and then in 2004 purchased another 3 trucks from Hayes Transport Services in Colac.
Both Peter Smith and Ken Hayes from the respective companies stayed on with the Boyle family ensuring their experience was not lost from the industry. Anthony Boyle (son) and Wendy Boyle (wife) saw most of this upgrade while Kelvin and Rodney Boyle (son) kept the trucks on the road with a never ending maintenance program.
Boyles now operate 19 trucks including 14 B doubles, 4 semis and a Truck and Trailer.
In 2007 Boyles won the Age / D & B rural business of the year award for business management. Kelvin Boyle will be inducted into the transport Hall of Fame in Alice Springs in August 2010.
All drivers are treated as part of the family, and we have a very small staff turnover ensuring we keep our experience.

We strongly support the industry we love and are active members of our industry association the livestock transporters association of Vic, and the Australian livestock transport association. Our depot is still located in Rea’s rd Mepunga, where it all started from.
We offer holding paddocks and feeding for stock in transit at our depot if required. Many of our customers take advantage of this when they are short on room at their own facility or trying to make up loads from the districts markets.
